its not goodbye ....

...its "big gulps eh?! well, see ya later"

And now - a poem:


It was about eight years ago that we all arrived on campus,
we were young and freshmen, but knew no one could handle us.

Alpha Xi Delta brought us together in those first few years,
you could aways spot me and BK and our "Bear Ears".

We went from 1st to 7th place and perhaps ignited a few fights,

we had to turn the boat around on that Semi-Formal night.

Whether it was the Gopher Hole, homecoming floats or champions of basketball,

it didn't matter the activity - AXiD rocked them all.

We've been around the world together - Chile, Mexico and Key West,

but Charlotte was always the city that we loved best.

As graduation arrived - the real world was at our door,

we stuck together to tackle jobs, rent, bills and more.

We painted the town red every chance we could find,

not even the Ice storms could stop us... all holidays (and Columbus Day) were a great time!

 

A few Wednesdays you might find us at Howl at the Moon,

you can always count on us for a good dance and to sing a pop tune.

Panthers games, Checkers games and even our own kickball team,

it didn't matter if we won or lost -- we'd be cheering and our faces would gleam.

Movie marathons on TV were our favorite kind of of day,

we could sit on the couch for hours and when nothing else was on ... we'd hit replay.

And now - as new opportunities arise - we are losing two of our best,

off to Kentucky and Winston-Salem ... they are off to start a new quest.

TMoney and BK - I do not want you to go,

but before you do - there is something you should know.

Charlotte will always be here - as will the rest of us that remain,

you can come back anytime ... whether it be by boat, car or train.

Good luck with whats next - whatever that might be,

there is a lot in store for you guys ... we will just have to wait and see ...
