I was in bed, watching the Phillies game last night ... the breaking news came across the bottom screen and the game announcers ... well they announced ... that President Obama would be addressing the nation in regards to Osama bin Laden being found ... and killed.
As word spread throughout the stadium -- the USA chant was started. Coverage flipped over to the White House where people were gathered outside the gates ... also chanting USA. (which also made me think of our Chile trip and the USA chant we may or may not have started while out one night!)
With some friends who are currently serving overseas and remembering that day we were pulled into the auditorium for an assembly and they announced that the Twin Towers had been hit ... it felt good to hear President Obama announce we finally got him.
Facebook and Twitter immediately blew up with posts and status updates. It's amazing to see everyone come together.
then ... it was announced it was 6 Navy Seals ... can't help but be proud to know some Navy boys.
Thank you to all who served and are currently serving. and to the families who make those sacrifices everyday...Including 4 Ravenscroft classmates and friends: Ryan Barry and family, Matty Wimsatt and family , Chris Young and family, RaShawn King and family... and many, many others....couldn't have done it without any of you.
