Georgia on my mind

Finally Brittany and Brandon tied the knot this past weekend in Savannah, Georgia.

Ryan, Becky, Josie and I roadtripped it down ... crossed the Moon River ... to join up with fellow friends to celebrate with Brittany and Brandon.

A 4 hour car ride, an odd stop at Wendys, and myself dominating some Celebrity Name Game later -- we arrived across the Moon River in downtown Savannah.

You can't see it -- but this reads
"NOT a Trash Can ... the purpose of this receptacle remains a mystery"

nothing like a Wendy's off I-95, eh?

We then got ourselves a warm cookie, complimentary of the DoubleTree ... regrouped ... and headed out to Skidaway Island for an cocktail party and to welcome all the out of town guests!

and by headed out -- I mean ...

googled mapped this place.
got lost.
went to the wrong gate.
turned around.
went to the main gate.
turned around again.
found the right gate.
took a wrong turn.
Ryan asked if we needed to stop at every single mailbox.
found the balloons and the right road.
finally found the place.
got a glass of wine.

Me, Becky, Tabor and Josie - we're ready to celebrate this weekend!

Saturday: Wedding Day

Saturday we woke up and decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather and city and enjoy Savannah.

We walked through downtown a little bit -- seeing some of the sites including Paula Deen's restuaraunt ... which there was an absurd line for already and it hadn't even opened yet!

Old Cotton Mill

I love all the spanish moss and the big trees that are all over the city!

We walked along the water front and saw all the fish shops and tourist shops!

Our big event of the day was eating at the Crystal Beer Parlor, which is Savannah's second oldest bar and restaurant. First opened in the 1900's ... it is still a staple Savannah venue.

I got a Crystal Shrimp Salad Sandwich ... and it was surprisingly good.

Then we took a 2 hour bike ride around the city.

seriously.

2 hours of biking .....

but we did it on this bike:

The Savannah Slow Ride!

It's a 15 passenger ... bike ... in which we pedal and bike our way around the city and see the sights, we hop on and off as we please ... and so we stopped in some bars to check some scores (my Heels did not do so well) ... and some restaurants to get some snacks ... and enjoyed the sunshine.

Yeah, okay ... it was a little hard ... we broke a sweat ... and could feel the burn in our legs .. but it was a ton of fun! We were on the bike with another group of 5 and it was a great way to see the city. We got a lot of honks, cheers and waves from pedestrians, other tours and locals.

Then it was time for the REAL fun. We hopped on the trolley that took us from downtown back our to Skidaway Island --- woot, woot ...
because we did NOT want to attempt to navigate ourselves around Savannah again ...

We arrived at the church -- and witnessed a 15 minute ceremony.

15 minutes?! That is an efficient, organized wedding.

Lets get to the dinner and the dancing!!

We hopped back on the trolley and headed over The Plantation Club ...
and Britty changed from a off-white sash to a hot pink sash!
NOW we're ready to rock and roll!

The view outside the reception venue ...

The girls are ready to dance!

Cocktail hour outside The Plantation Club
