March is ..

...well, its a lot of things.

It's CES' birthday month, it's St. Patty's Day parties, it's college basketball at its finest. Oh the MADNESS!

However; March is ALSO National Athletic Training Month. oh yes, that's right.

This year at school we have decided to actually recognize our month and make it fun for the kids to learn a little something about what it is we do. Including dealing with an athlete yesterday who didn't feel well -- this was due to him eating a frozen waffle for breakfast. Didn't cook it because he was running late. Just ate it, frozen. really?!?!

Anyway ... March includes a month-long trivia contest and a decorated bulletin board:

Head Football Coach ... staring ... looking quite confused at board
Me: do you have any bulletin boards that need decorating coach? football themed even?
Coach: ha, No. Why? Are you the official decorater person?
Me: No. But I should be ... look at this thing!
Coach ... just walks away.

ANYWAY - Happy Athletic Training Month to my fellow AT's ...

To my fellow CISAA ATs: You are welcome for your knowledge of useless pop culture information including all Justin Beiber and Tyler Hansbrough facts. and I thank you for all your helpful knowledge that actually relate to our profession.

To my WUATs: I am still telling stories of us and our athletes to my kids. Most are life lessons on what not to do when a kid (aka Jeremy Kent) breaks his arm during a football game ... but still ... love ya'll and can't wait to see you in New Orleans!!

To all of our Athletes: If it wasnt for them ... our lives would be more quiet, simpler, less stressful - but definitly less enteratining and less fulfilling. Thanks for keeping us on our toes.

btw - Here is a link to a post I did last year -- with JMU's version of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal ... Smooth Professional, enjoy...again! ----->   JMU's Smooth Professional
